Canning and preserving runs in our blood, a tradition we inherited from our days in Ukraine. It wasn’t just about being thrifty, but also, as mom used to say, knowing exactly what went into our jars. From planting seeds to harvesting the freshest fruits and veggies, we’d fill our shelves with the goodness of our hard work.

Ah, August, the bittersweet month of canning madness! Our tiny kitchen became a canning factory, off-limits to us kids. Jars filled every corner, either waiting to be filled or cooling down with their tasty contents. No fancy gadgets, yet our canned treasures lasted for years, tasting as delicious as day one.

Fast forward to today, our canning journey started when we got tired of sugary, store-bought preserves. When the pandemic hit, it hit us: why not follow mom’s old-school ways here in Canada? Our first batch of pickled tomatoes and onions in 2020 was a revelation, and we’ve never looked back.

We keep it simple and genuine, just like mom taught us. And trust us, our canned recipes are way better than your regular grocery store finds – ever tried our thyme blueberry preserve?

This website is our way of spreading the canning love to all. Canning is good for your health, wallet, and taste buds – and we promise you’ll thank us later! Visit us often, subscribe to our canning newsletter and say: “Yes, we can and preserve!”

With love, Olga and Oksana
